Buffalo Nickel Collection including Buffalo nickels from 1913 to 1938 Full Buffalo Nickel Collection in a wooden madronne frame

Historic Buffalo Nickel Collection

This historic, framed, Buffalo Nickel Collection is both a western and a numismatic wall decoration that helps tell the story of the Spirit of the West in a beautiful way. The Buffalo nickel or Indian Head nickel was a popular five-cent piece struck by the United States Mint from 1913 to 1938. It was designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser, the same sculptor famous for his creation, the End of the Trail.

This Buffalo Nickel Collection , a creation from Ponderosa Ranch Outfitters, depicts the history and the spirit of independence of the American West featuring a complete year set of Buffalo Nickels set against a background of the American Bison in the American West. This piece is then framed either by our Natural Frame in Oak or Madrone, a durable, dense, warm colored wood with naturally peeling bark, or by our Cowboy Frame in barnwood with cornerblocks and barbed wire.

Also, check out The Story of the Buffalo Nickel.  Spoiler Alert:  The fact that it is neither nickel nor a buffalo gives you an idea of the fascinating twists and turns of its history.

We, the folks of Ponderosa Ranch Outfitters, hope you like your unique, made in the USA creations.
